Terms of use
Last updated 1 November 2026
These terms apply to everyone who uses MedSim, made by VirtualVerse Studio: the website, the free trial, and the apps, for schools and for people learning on their own. A school's own agreement with us adds to them.
For practice, not for patients
MedSim's patients are simulations for medical education. Many of the library's cases are written by AI and have not yet been reviewed by a clinician, and every one is labelled. Nothing in MedSim is medical advice or clinical guidance: never use it to diagnose or treat a real person.
Accounts
Schools create their staff's and students' accounts; anyone else can make a free account of their own in the apps. Keep your sign-in codes to yourself, and tell us or your school if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete an account of your own at any time in the app; a school can close an account it created.
Using MedSim well
- Use MedSim for learning and teaching only.
- Do not enter real patients' details, or anyone's health information, into a consultation or a case.
- Do not try to get around sign-in, limits or another school's data, or overload the service.
- Do not copy the cases, people or software to use outside MedSim, unless your school's agreement allows it.
Scores
Scores are given by rules and by an AI that reads the consultation, and they can be wrong. Educators can change any mark, and a school decides what scores count for.
Credits and the free trial
MedSim is paid for in credits: a minute talking to a patient is 1 credit (3 on the MedSim headset app), counted by the second, a typed consultation is 1, and a case written with the AI is 10, with 1 for each change to it.
Each school has an allowance of credits a month; when it runs out, students can still type for free.
Learning on your own, you get a few free typed consultations a day (free credits that only typed consultations can use), one more for each short ad you choose to watch, and a few credits when you join. More credits come with MedSim Plus, below, or in packs from the App Store and Google Play. Credits don't expire, have no cash value, can't be passed to someone else, and go with the account if you delete it. Refunds are handled by the store you paid, under its rules.
The free trial and the daily allowances may change or end at any time.
MedSim Plus
MedSim Plus is a subscription for people learning on their own, bought monthly or yearly in the App Store or Google Play, at the price your store shows before you confirm. While it lasts, you get 120 credits a month (120 minutes talking to patients), 10 free typed consultations a day and no ads. A subscription works for one MedSim account at a time.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- It renews automatically, for the same length and at the same price, until you cancel. Your store charges for the next month or year within the 24 hours before the current one ends, so cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. If the price changes, your store tells you before it applies.
- Manage or cancel it in your store's subscription settings: on an iPhone, Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play, then your profile, then Payments and subscriptions. Deleting the app or your MedSim account doesn't cancel it.
- After you cancel, Plus lasts until the end of the month or year you paid for, then the free allowances above apply again. Cancelling doesn't refund time already paid for: refunds are made by Apple or Google, under their own rules.
- Each paid month adds 120 credits to your account; a year is paid at once, and its credits still come a month at a time. Like all credits, they don't expire: what you don't use carries over, and stays yours after Plus ends.
What belongs to whom
MedSim, its software, people, sounds and library cases belong to VirtualVerse Studio or its licensors. Cases a school writes or changes are the school's to use in MedSim.
Availability
We work to keep MedSim running and your work safe, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. A school's agreement sets out the service it can expect.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and schools hear of important changes before they apply. Write to contact@virtualverse.studio with any question.
