Roadmap

Where MedSim goes next.

After the consultation room comes the rest of the hospital: treating the patient, bedside procedures, the operating theatre and the team around a patient.

Plans, not promises. The order follows what schools ask for, and dates can move.

Live today

What every school gets now.

  • Voice consultations in English, Egyptian and Saudi Arabic
  • 105 cases across 10 specialties and 5 levels
  • A case studio where the AI drafts in both languages
  • Classes, assignments, live review and released results
  • The web, iPhone and Android with AR, and Meta Quest 3
  • MedSim Plus for students on their own

Next

The coming months

Closing the gaps schools ask about.

  • The iPhone app in the App Store

The phone app is live on Google Play; the iPhone app follows.

  • Meta Quest in Meta's store

The headset app in the Meta Horizon Store, and fleet setup for simulation labs.

  • A clinician-reviewed library

Every library case read and signed by a named clinician, and labelled with their name.

  • Treat the patient

Give oxygen, fluids and drugs, and watch the monitor answer in real time.

  • Single sign-on

Students and faculty sign in with your institution's Microsoft or Google account.

  • DICOM imaging

Upload real X-rays, CTs and MRIs, with identifying details stripped.

  • Cohort analytics

Progress across a class over time: each domain, the questions most often missed.

  • EEG and iPad everywhere

EEGs read on the phones and the headset too, and a layout for iPad.

Later

2027 and beyond

From the consultation to the whole hospital.

The major next step

The operating theatre

Scrub in on Meta Quest: consent the patient, plan the operation, then perform its key steps with real instruments in your hands. Incision, dissection, haemostasis and closure are each marked, step by step, the way a consultation is today.

  • Common general-surgery procedures first
  • Instruments held and used with hand tracking
  • The patient before, during and after: consent, theatre and the ward round
  • Written and assigned by your surgeons in the case studio
  • Bedside procedures

Suturing, cannulation, catheterisation, lumbar puncture and airway skills, practised with your hands on the headset.

  • Resuscitation

A patient who deteriorates in real time: life support algorithms, the defibrillator and the drugs, against the clock.

  • A ward of patients

Several patients at once: prioritise, hand over, and come back to a patient who has changed.

  • Team training

Several students around one patient, each with a role, in the same room or in the same headset session.

  • OSCE exam mode

Timed stations, an examiner's view and validated marking for summative exams.

  • Obstetrics and paediatrics

Pregnancy and labour, and children whose parent speaks for them.

  • Hard conversations

Breaking bad news, consent, and a worried relative in the room.

  • Your learning platform

Assignments and grades in Moodle, Blackboard and Canvas.

Exploring

Ideas we're testing with schools.

  • More dialects: Gulf, Levantine and Maghrebi Arabic
  • French, for the Maghreb and West Africa
  • Nursing, pharmacy and dentistry
  • Continuing education for practising doctors
